It will be seen that starting with a membership of 156 in 1940, it had risen to 587 in 1963, 1372 in March 2005 and now at the time of 75th year of Pavazha Vizha celebrations it has risen to 1871.
At the annual conference held in 1941, it was decided to enroll more as members including ladies. In order to augment the resources of the association, Pongal collection was inaugurated in 1950, which in the year 1952 amounted to Rs. 1,610.50. Later on when the resources are sufficiently available the entire expenses are met by the Association for the Pongal celebration.
